Funding For Necessary Local Road Improvements Highlighted by Senator Metzger
January 24, 2020
Hudson Valley and Catskills, NY...Over $150 million in road improvements will be implemented this year through the State's PAVE NY Initiative, including projects in Orange, Sullivan, and Ulster counties.
“I've been fighting for getting our fair share of funding for roads in the 42nd Senate District, and I'm very pleased that a number of important roadways in our region will see much-needed improvements," said Senator Metzger. "Looking ahead, I will continue to advocate for increased funding for our rural roads in this year's State Budget negotiations, including funding for both state and local roads. These investments are essential to public safety and a thriving local economy."
A list of pavement renewal projects slated for the 42nd Senate District include:
- $2.6 million to renew Routes 17B, 52A and 52 from Route 97 to Miller Road in Sullivan County
- $1.5 million to renew Route 211 from Goshen Turnpike to Route 416 in Orange County
- $1.5 million to renew Route 32 from the Orange County line to Route 44/55 in Ulster County
- $1.5 million to renew Route 44/55 from Chapel Hill Road to Route 208 in Ulster
Work will begin in the spring and will be completed by the end of 2020.
