July 13, 2020
Orange County, NY...Senator Jen Metzger (SD-42) yesterday joined local leaders and St. Paul's United Methodist Church congregants at the National Shrine of Our Lady of Mount Carmel to celebrate Pastor Charles Ryu’s ministry and contributions to the greater Middletown community in advance of his relocation to a church in Upper Manhattan. During the event, which staggered attendees with time slots to allow for social distancing, Senator Metzger presented the Pastor with a Senate Proclamation in recognition of over 35 years of distinguished service in professional ministry, and the nine impactful years he has spent in Middletown at Saint Paul's United Methodist Church.
“It has been my great pleasure to get to know Pastor Charles and to work with him on issues important to his parishioners and to the Middletown community,” said Senator Metzger. “He is a passionate advocate for the dignity and well-being of all people who has opened the doors of St. Paul’s to welcome and help our most vulnerable community members, and he will be dearly missed.”
Jen Metzger represents the 42nd Senate District, which includes all of Sullivan County and parts of Delaware, Orange, and Ulster Counties. Senator Metzger serves as Chair of the Agriculture Committee and sits on the Environmental Conservation, Education, Health, Energy and Telecommunications, Local Government, Women’s Issues, Domestic Animal Welfare, and Legislative Commission on Rural Resources Committees.
