Senator Metzger, ARC Mid-Hudson Announce Dozens of New Jobs Coming to Ellenville
October 27, 2020
Ellenville, NY...Senator Jen Metzger (SD-42) this week announced three companies moving to Ellenville that will hire locally and bring more than 60 jobs to the Village. Press conference attendees included Ellenville Mayor Jeff Kaplan, Eugene Knudsen (Director of Adult and Community Education at Ulster BOCES Ellenville), Gary Bellows (Business Development Officer at the ARC Mid-Hudson), and the CEOs of the three companies that have chosen to make Ellenville their home.
“We are thrilled that these three businesses recognize all that Ellenville has to offer, and will bring much needed jobs to the community during this challenging time," said Senator Jen Metzger. “The companies have not only committed to hiring locally but will also work with ARC Mid-Hudson to provide job opportunities to people with disabilities, which is another great and positive contribution to the community."
EZ Fast Printing CEO Mark Dolon recently purchased the old ARC Mid-Hudson building at 46 Canal Street, where the announcement took place. The company specializes in manufacturing banners, decals, and digitally- and 3D-printed goods. North American Apparel, Inc., run by CEO Muhammed Janghir, will be renting a portion of 198 Canal Street building, where ARC has relocated, to sell and distribute screen-printed activewear as well as medical scrubs, gowns, lab coats, aprons, chef's uniforms, and the like. Janghir will share the space with Matrix New York, Inc. and City Marketing of New York, Inc., both run by CEO Delwar Mohammad, to help market and promote the textiles.
Senator Metzger’s office worked to further new employment opportunities by connecting Ulster BOCES with the Workforce Development Institute so that they can provide job training for their adult education programs to give individuals the skills to work in these industries.
Jen Metzger represents the 42nd Senate District, which includes all of Sullivan County and parts of Delaware, Orange, and Ulster Counties. Senator Metzger serves as Chair of the Agriculture Committee and sits on the Environmental Conservation, Education, Health, Energy and Telecommunications, Local Government, Women’s Issues, Domestic Animal Welfare, and Legislative Commission on Rural Resources Committees.
