Senator Serrano condemned the recent surge of anti-Semitic crimes in the state of New York. Eight incidents in New York City were reported to the NYPD in a two-week span in December, followed by an attack in the home of a rabbi during Hanukkah in Monsey, New York on December 28th.
"Over the last several weeks we have seen a series of despicable, anti-Semitic attacks in New York, including the horrific incident in Rockland County during Hanukkah. An attack on the Jewish community is an attack on all New Yorkers, and we must come together to strongly reaffirm that religious discrimination and bigotry have no place in our society. As we enter the new year, I will continue to work with my colleagues in the Majority Conference to protect the human rights of every New Yorker and devise solutions to combat hate and intolerance."
