Griffo honored by New York Farm Bureau
January 6, 2020
New York State Senate Deputy Minority Leader Joseph Griffo, R-I-C-Rome, has been named to the New York Farm Bureau’s 2019 “Circle of Friends.”
“It is a great honor to be recognized by the New York Farm Bureau,” Deputy Minority Leader Griffo said. “Farming and the agricultural industry are a significant foundation for Upstate New York and the state’s economy. I recognize and appreciate the substantial impact that the industry has on communities and families throughout the state and will continue to advocate on behalf of our farmers and agribusinesses.”
According to the New York Farm Bureau, the “Circle of Friends” honor is based on a legislator’s voting record on agricultural issues and evidence of legislative support, including sponsorship of bills that New York Farm Bureau has either supported or opposed during the most recent legislative session.
“New York Farm Bureau recognizes these Senators and Assembly Members for their legislative work on agricultural issues that matter to our members,” New York Farm Bureau President David Fisher said. “We appreciate their support of bills and budget items that benefit farm families, and we hope to continue this partnership in the 2020 legislative session. We aim to work together with all lawmakers to support local food production and address the needs of our rural communities.”
