(Brooklyn, New York) - State Senator Kevin Parker issued the following statement upon the selection of New York State Assemblywoman Rodneyse Bichotte as Chair of the Kings County Democratic Party:
“Assemblywoman Bichotte has been a leader in our community well before her election to the state legislature, and I know she will bring the same dedication and hard work to the Kings County Democratic organization. Because of her tenacity, Rodneyse continues to hit milestone after milestone since elected to the Assembly in 2015. She became the first Haitian-American ever elected to the State Legislature, and today she is the first woman, and thereby first black woman, to Chair the Kings County Democratic Party.”
“Brooklyn deserves a leader who can bring together the diversity, creativity, and all that makes our borough so great. Assemblywoman Bichotte has what it takes to organize the Brooklyn Democratic Party, and I look forward to supporting her as she works diligently to make the party inclusive of all Brooklynites.”
