Senator Kevin Thomas Announces Additional $70K in Funding for Addiction Treatment Service Providers in Nassau County

(Garden City, NY) — New York State Senator Kevin Thomas announced today that an additional $70K in funding has been allocated by the New York State Office of Addiction Services and Supports (OASAS) to help addiction treatment service providers in Nassau County expand their telehealth services. 

EAC Network, Hispanic Counseling Center, Mercy Medical Center, Southeast Nassau Guidance Center, and YES Community Counseling Center have been awarded funding through the State Opioid Response Grant to purchase new equipment such as PCs, software, monitors, speakers, laptops, keyboards, and webcams.

“The COVID-19 pandemic has disrupted access to many traditional support services for those with substance use disorders and in recovery,” said Senator Thomas. “By investing in telepractice services, we can ensure that Long Islanders have the necessary resources, support, and access to life-saving addiction treatment services.” 

Funding for this initiative was provided through the State Opioid Response Grant.
