NEW YORK STATE SENATOR MONICA R. MARTINEZ DELIVERS FUNDING TO LIBRARY IMPROVEMENTS THROUGHOUT THE THIRD SENATORIAL DISTRICT

(PATCHOGUE, NY): New York State Senator Monica R. Martinez has secured just over six hundred and seventy thousand dollars ($670,000) in state aid for library construction across the Third Senatorial District. Four different facilities will benefit from this funding, helping to enhance the resources our libraries provide to our communities.
Funding provided this year includes:
Bayport-Blue Point Library, receiving $365,076 for Site development components; sidewalks, curbs, drainage for parking & fire-road and new septic system plus an additional $350,000 in State and Municipal (SAM) grant towards the building of their new library;
Central Islip Public Library, receiving $65, 375 for installation of a modern electrical panel;
Patchogue-Medford Library, receiving $225,000 to replace the flat roof over the entire building; and
Suffolk Cooperative System, receiving $15,000 in funds to convert storage space to a new office space and replace all exterior lighting with LED fixtures.
“This funding will allow for much needed improvements to ensure a safer and a more efficient operation within our libraries, affording the public with easier access to the resources and programs they provide to the community. Libraries serve as an integral part of our society and community through their involvement with special events which is why funding them was a top priority of mine,” said Senator Martinez.
