SENATOR MONICA R. MARTINEZ HOSTS CLERGY ROUNDTABLE
(BRENTWOOD & BELLPORT, NY) On March 9, 2020, State Senator Monica R. Martinez hosted clergy leaders from the Third Senatorial District. Events were held at both the Brentwood and South Country Libraries where the Senator partnered with Deputy Director of NYS Office of Faith Based Services, Dr. Que English, to provide information on the many valuable resources available to our faith based organizations. The events were attended by pastors from Brentwood to Bellport to the Tri-Hamlet out East.
“Our faith based organizations provide a wide range of vital social services that build and sustain vulnerable people and populations here in the Third Senatorial District. These services range from providing affordable and supportive housing, soup kitchens/food pantries, educational services, employment assistance, mental health support and much more. I am grateful to Dr. English for sharing all the valuable resources that the Office of Faith Based Community Development Services has available,” said Senator Monica R. Martinez.
At this roundtable, Senator Martinez and Dr. English shared very important details about the upcoming 2020 Census and the downside it could cause by not counting each individual. Senator Martinez and her staff will be hosting two informative sessions in order to assist all individuals. For questions related to the 2020 Census, please call the Senator’s office at (631) 360-3356.
