South Salem, NY – New York State Senator Pete Harckham issued the following statement today in regard to the tremendous efforts being made by healthcare workers, public safety employees and volunteers on the frontline of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) crisis in the 40th Senate District:
“On behalf of the residents in the 40th Senate District, I want to say thank you to an incredible group of people for their selfless, dedicated and ongoing efforts to maintain our safety and well-being.
“Our healthcare workers, who are on the front line of ensuring the wellness and recovery of those who infected; police, firefighters and EMT’s; service workers who don’t have the ability to stay at home; municipal and school employees still on the job; volunteers like the Red Cross and others in non-profits staffing local food pantries and delivery operations, along with many other groups and businesses who are helping our friends and neighbors with their needs: To all of you, I say, thank you very much from the bottom of my heart.
“We will get through this health emergency together, but let’s make sure to take the time to thank all of these angels in our midst. They deserve our heartfelt gratitude.”
