SERINO THANKS COMMUNITY FOR OVERWHELMING SUPPORT OF ‘BABY SHOWER’ INITIATIVE
October 31, 2020
Hyde Park, NY- Senator Sue Serino today is thanking the community for the tremendous response to her first ‘Community Baby Shower.’
The unique initiative was a donation drive to benefit new parents, expecting parents and families that are served by the Grace Smith House, Family Services, Inc. and the Putnam/Northern Westchester Women’s Resource Center here in our local community.
“Our community continues to come together when our neighbors need it most, and that has held true throughout this pandemic, and our neighbors turned out in a big way to support this important initiative,” said Senator Serino. “I know just what it feels like to be a single parent struggling to make ends meet and worry about the affordability of diapers, formula, etc. Parents have a lot on their plate right now, and this Community Baby Shower was a way to show our neighbors that we’re there to help. I can’t thank the countless people who donated and the organizations involved who serve our community enough.”
Items donated included:
- Diapers of all sizes
- Baby Wipes
- Baby Bottles
- Baby Formula
- Diaper Rash Cream
- Homemade baby blankets
- Bath products
