Rockville Centre Resident and Special Education Advocate Appointed to School Reopening Task Force
June 19, 2020
(Rockville Centre, New York) — State Senator Todd Kaminsky lauded the appointment of Christina Muccioli, Vice President of Education at AHRC NYC, to the state education department’s Reopening Schools Task Force — the group charged with safely and effectively guiding New York schools through the aftermath of the COVID-19 pandemic. Christina is also the founder of the Rockville Centre Special Education PTA. Kaminsky recommended her appointment.
The Board of Regents and the New York State Education Department formed the School Reopening Task Force to help guide schools as they continue to educate our students in the post-COVID world.
“Christina will be a strong advocate for differently-abled children and her years of experience will help the state put forth a strong reopening plan,” Senator Kaminsky said.
“I am thrilled to be selected as a member of NYSED Reopening Schools Regional Task Force and to represent NYC and Long Island,” said Christina Muccioli. I am humbled and honored that Senator Todd Kaminsky endorsed my nomination for membership to this very important committee. It is thanks to the Senator’s intervention that I will have the opportunity to speak and advocate on behalf of children with disabilities who are unable to be educated in a public setting. As the founding co-president of RVC SEPTA and as the Vice President of Education for AHRCNYC, I look forward to represent our children!”
