"Mother’s Day is a time to honor and recognize mothers for all they do, the sacrifices they make, the wisdom they impart, and the unconditional love they give. Mothers are the most precious women in all our lives. May we remember and keep in our thoughts - the mothers who have paid the ultimate price and are unable to celebrate today with their son or daughter because they are no longer with us. And to all who have lost a mom, like I have, and who are thinking of them today, may they be remembered for all the love they gave.
During this pandemic, mothers have been tested and stepped up in remarkable ways to help their families, friends, and communities. For example, I honored a mother and small business owner in New Rochelle who delivered toys to children who were stuck inside at the height of the pandemic. Her act of kindness brought joy to children and helped bring relief to mothers who found themselves homeschooling. And she inspired other mothers in the community to help their neighbors. Countless mothers are serving as role models and showing their children you can always help just for the sake of helping.
Mothers know it's never easy, and every day should be a day to say thank you. I appreciate all our moms out there, and wishing them a Happy Mother’s Day!"
