Senator James Sanders Jr. Recieves NBCSL Legislator of the Year Award

Senator James Sanders Jr. is proud to be the recipient of the National Black Caucus of State Legislators Thomas S. Boyland Regional Legislator of the Year Award Region II (Georgia 2021).
“NBCSL is honored to present the Regional Legislator of the Year Award to Senator Sanders. His leadership and hard work on behalf of his constituents prove that he is deserving of this distinguished honor," said Rep. Billy Mitchell, President of NBCSL. “We look forward to Senator Sanders continued work in the New York legislature and beyond.”
This award is given annually to recognize the outstanding legislative achievements and contributions made by a current member of NBCSL. Renamed the Thomas S. Boyland Legislator of the Year Award in 1983 in memory of late New York Assemblyman, the award is given to a legislator who has exhibited extraordinary leadership and dedication to the advancement of NBCSL’s legislative agenda.
This award was presented to Senator Sanders during the NBCSL's 45th Annual Legislative Conference in Atlanta, Georgia on December 2, 2021.
"I feel humble and grateful to have received this pretigious award from such an important organization as the NBCSL," Sanders said. "I will continue to exhibit the leadership and dedication to improve the future of our great state."
