Senator Sanders Has Three Bills Signed Into Law - Child Health, Nursing Home, Parks

Senator James Sanders Jr. had three of his bills signed into law by Governor Kathy Hochul on October 8, 2021. The legislation pertains to child health, nursing homes and preservation of parkland.
S577 - Relates to the coverage of ostomy supplies in the child health plus program
This bill would require the child health plus program to include ostomy equipment and supplies as a covered health care service.
S553 - Relates to the publication of nursing home ratings
Requires that the most recent rating of every nursing home assigned pursuant to the U.S. Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS rating), shall be prominently displayed on the home page of the department's website and at each nursing home facility.
S6229A - Authorizes the city of New York to alienate and discontinue the use of certain portions of parkland
This legislation seeks to temporarily suspend public usage of certain parts of Idlewild Park in order to complete construction of a storm sewer by the Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) which will help prevent and mitigate flooding in the area.
