Tedisco Cuts Ribbon for New Southern Adirondack Mountain Rescue Training Center on Oak Mountain in Village of Speculator

Senator Jim Tedisco (R,C-Glenville) today cut the ribbon on the new Southern Adirondack Mountain Rescue Training Center at the top of Oak Mountain in the Hamilton County Village of Speculator (Town of Lake Pleasant). 

Senator Tedisco helped secure a $50,000 New York State grant to construct the cabin at the top of Oak Mountain, which will be used for training and educational programs by the Oak Mountain Volunteer Ski Patrol, New York State Police, New York State Department of Environmental Conservation Park Rangers and DEC Police, K-9 units, firefighters and Girl Scouts and Boy Scouts.

“The number of outdoor enthusiasts enjoying and wanting to visit and experience all the wonderful things that the Adirondacks have to offer in all seasons has dramatically increased, especially during this pandemic. This has led to an increased need for emergency service providers who are skilled in outdoor search and rescue and providing first aid and care to hikers, skiers and all visitors.  I was proud to help return tax dollars back to the 49^th Senate District by securing a $50,000 New York State grant for the Southern Adirondack Mountain Rescue Training Center at Oak Mountain in Speculator to help our emergency first responders save lives and keep people safe when they visit beautiful Hamilton County and the Adirondacks,” said Senator Jim Tedisco.
