Senator Jim Tedisco (R,C-Glenville), ranking member of the New York State Senate Education Committee, today presented a New York State Senate Proclamation honoring Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake High School Varsity Student Athletes for receiving the New York State Public High School Athletic Association Scholar-Athlete Team School of Distinction Award.
Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake (BHBL) High School had all 25 of its athletic programs recognized as scholar athlete teams. Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake is one of six schools in Section 2 to be named a school of distinction. There are 94 total schools in Section 2 and BHBL is just one of 67 schools in New York State (out of 788 total schools) to be named a school of distinction.
The top female sports were volleyball with a 97.63 grade point average and softball with a 97.55 average. The top male sports at BHBL were tennis at 96.83 GPA and cross country with a 95.65 average. The grade point average of all 25 athletic programs at BHBL was 95.06.

These young people are not just outstanding athletes but they also are exceptional scholars who have achieved unbelievable success in the classroom and through athletic competition. As a former teacher, guidance counselor, athletic director and coach, I am proud to honor and recognize Burnt Hill-Ballston Lake students, teachers and staff for earning this statewide School of Distinction Award," said Senator Jim Tedisco.
