Senator Jim Tedisco (R,C-Glenville) yesterday toured the new state-of-the-art 911 Dispatch Center at the Saratoga County Sheriff's Office in Ballston Spa and presented the agency with a NYS resolution he sponsored and passed commemorating our 911 dispatcher public safety heroes.

"Whether callers need fire, police or medical emergency personnel when dialing 911, our well-trained and highly skilled dispatchers must be prepared for any type of emergency call to gather vital information, instruct the appropriate agency to respond and calmly and compassionately interact and provide instructions to victims at the scene. Thanks to Sheriff Michael Zurlo and the men and women of the Saratoga County Sheriff's Office and 911 Dispatch Center for all they do to respond to emergency situations and keep people safe when they respond to what are in many instances, stressful, life and death calls," said Senator Jim Tedisco.

Senator Tedisco is sponsoring legislation Senate Bill S.5154 to recognize the essential role our 911 dispatchers play as truly the "FIRST of the First responders" to an emergency and ensure that they are considered emergency first responders under New York State law when it comes to state benefits.
