Joint Statement from Senator May, Senator Mannion, and Mayor Walsh on Van Duyn Center for Rehabilitation and Nursing
Senator Mannion, Senator May & Mayor Walsh
October 14, 2021
Today, we took our grave concerns regarding patient safety and troubling conditions at the Van Duyn Center for Rehabilitation and Nursing directly to the management team.
While we are sympathetic to the ongoing challenges confronting this facility and the entire industry, we cannot allow our beloved seniors to suffer neglect or receive substandard care.
We are appreciative of the Department of Health’s efforts to intervene and are awaiting the results of an inspection conducted earlier this month.
Our goal is to work with management and state regulators to resolve all issues and restore the public trust in the Van Duyn Center for Rehabilitation and Nursing.
