With wait times to receive a COVID-19 test getting longer each day as the holidays get closer and the COVID positivity rates increase, State Senator Joseph P. Addabbo, Jr. partnered with the Deshi Senior Center of Ozone Park and community activist Raimondo Graziano to bring free COVID-19 testing to his Howard Beach office. On Tuesday, December 21, the medical professionals at Addabbo’s office gave out 109 COVID-19 PCR nose swab tests to residents.
“As more people are looking to travel for the holidays and become more aware of their own health needs, I wanted to be able to help them out by providing free COVID testing,” Addabbo said. “With the Omicron variant spreading throughout the city, I feel it is important to get a clean bill of health especially if you plan on traveling for the holidays and visiting family members. I would like to thank Raimondo Graziano for his help in setting up this great event, and to the Deshi Senior Center for providing us with the technicians to administer the tests. I hope to be able to provide this service to the community again in the near future.”
