Join this free tax prep webinar to get information on how you can get your taxes done for free this year

With tax season in full swing, State Senator Joseph P. Addabbo, Jr. is bringing a free virtual webinar with Department of Consumer and Worker Protection (DCWP) representatives for a discussion about free tax prep for his constituents.

On Wednesday, March 10, from 7 to 8 p.m., Commissioner of DCWP Lorelei Salas will be live on the webinar to provide a Free Tax Prep presentation for all who register. During her presentation, Salas will discuss free filing options for New Yorkers earning $68,000 or less as well as NYC Financial Empowerment Centers, which offer free one-on-one professional financial counseling for all New Yorkers.

At the conclusion of her presentation, Commissioner Salas will open the floor for a Q&A session where members of the audience may ask questions related to NYC Free Tax Prep.

“April 15th may seem far away right now, but it will be here before you know it, and you will need to have your taxes filed. That is why I am bringing this Free Tax Preparation and Financial Counseling webinar in conjunction with DCWP,” Addabbo said. “Your taxes may be different from previous years, especially if you were impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic and lost your job or had to receive unemployment benefits, and if you made less than $68,000 your taxes could be done for free. I encourage everyone to take part in this free service to learn more about these options. I would like to thank DCWP for providing this webinar to my constituents.”
