Queens Public Library is now open for their Stage 2 Reopening Plan, which means several more branches — including five in Senator Joseph P. Addabbo, Jr.’s district — will allow for additional in-person services.
Earlier this month, after careful planning and consideration, 14 libraries moved from to-go service to Stage 2 of QPL’s Reopening Plan, which allows computer use, browsing, and in-person reference.
Starting May 24, the following additional locations will offer browsing, public computer usage, and in-person reference:
- Briarwood Library;
- Fresh Meadows Library;
- Jackson Heights Library;
- Laurelton Library;
- Lefrak City Library;
- Maspeth Library;
- Mitchel-Linden Library;
- Rego Park Library;
- South Ozone Park Library;
- St. Albans Library;
- Sunnyside Library; and
- Whitestone Library.
“Our libraries are some of our most valuable resources in the community, and it is great news that they are beginning to reopen for more in-person services,” Addabbo said. “With school ending for the summer, libraries remain a fantastic venue for children to continue learning and reading during their summer vacation.”
As QPL starts this new phase of service and are able to offer more services to you safely, please note:
- Customers should limit visits to 30 minutes or less;
- A limited number of customers will be permitted in the library at a time; and
- No seating will be available except for public computers.
During your visit, you may browse materials, place requests for materials, pick up requested materials, receive reference services, use the computer and printers, pick up remote printing jobs, and use the restroom.
For everyone’s health and safety, face masks are required when entering and inside the library, and you must stay at least six feet apart from other people.
