Senator Patrick M. Gallivan (R-C, Elma) issued the following statement:
"The allegations facing the governor involving nursing homes and sexual harassment are beyond disturbing. Independent investigations by the U.S. Attorney and Attorney General's offices are warranted and the findings will be dealt with appropriately.
It has become clear, however, that the distractions from the people’s business are too great for the Governor to continue in a position requiring the public’s trust and it is time for him to step aside. If he does not, the Legislature should exercise the authority granted to it by the Constitution and begin impeachment proceedings."
