Harckham Hosts Document Shredding Event in Peekskill
October 12, 2021
Peekskill, NY – New York State Senator Pete Harckham, in partnership with Mid-Hudson Valley Federal Credit Union and Peekskill City School District, hosted a document shredding event, free of charge, this weekend in the parking lot at Peekskill High School. The event allowed area residents to shred over 1,600 pounds of documents.
“Residents appreciate opportunities like this to clean out old, unwanted papers that clutter their homes and offices while knowing it is all being disposed of in a safe and secure manner,” said Harckham. “Thanks to our partners, this event was a big success.”
Participants were welcomed to bring three to four paper storage boxes and or garbage bags for shredding. By the end of the event 50 cars had stopped by for the quick drop off and about 1,680 pounds of paper had been shredded. Participants all received a gift bag from Mid-Hudson Federal Valley Credit Union, which will be opening a new branch office in Peekskill by the end of the year.
