ALBANY, 03/08/21 -- State Senator Peter Oberacker (R/C – Schenevus) today applauded the announcement that SUNY Oneonta will house a state run COVID 19 vaccine clinic.
“The opening of a state-run COVID vaccine clinic on the SUNY Oneonta campus is great news for the entire region. I applaud the college for putting together an effective plan and the state for recognizing the critical need in our region.
“When I questioned Health Commissioner Zucker last month I pressed him to take action to improve vaccine availability in our rural communities that have been woefully underserved. Then, after touring SUNY Oneonta and meeting with Acting President Craig, I joined with my partners in the state assembly to press for a state-run point of dispensing (POD) site on campus. This is truly a win.
“Now, as our vaccine supply rises, I am hopeful that the state will improve appointment efficiency, increase eligibility, and continue to get shots in arms of those seeking the vaccine.”
