Rochester, NY - Today, Senator Samra Brouk (SD-55), chair of the Mental Health Committee, joined fellow Rochester-area state Senators and Assembly Members for a virtual public forum on the proposed 2021-22 New York State budget. Community members, advocates, and other interested parties provided written and oral testimony about the impact of the proposed budget.
“I’m grateful to the stakeholders and community members who participated in this town hall to give my colleagues and I valuable input on the executive budget and how it could impact our community,” said Senator Brouk. “COVID-19 is posing challenges to state and local governments alike, and community feedback at events like this help ensure that even in times of crisis, we are prioritizing the needs of the vulnerable and providing as best we can for our communities.”
The event was hosted on Zoom and Facebook Live. Senator Jeremy Cooney and Assemblymembers Harry Bronson, Sarah Clark, Jen Lunsford and Demond Meeks also participated in the event.
