Senator Brouk on Local Artists Securing Over $100,000 in NYS Council on the Arts Funding
August 2, 2021
“Our local arts community is the backbone of our Western New York culture, providing us with entertainment, jobs and important creative outlets which ease stress and encourage social bonding. Though many working artists were severely impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic, I am proud that today, artists in Senate District 55 have secured $110,000 in grants through the New York State Council on the Arts, which will go towards local theater productions, concerts, ballets and more. The arts generate substantial economic activity for our community but their contributions go much further than that, so I encourage anyone eligible to get their safe, free and effective COVID-19 vaccine so that live events may continue to return.”
