ROCHESTER NY - Senator Samra Brouk (SD-55) and her staff celebrated employees at the Rochester Psychiatric Center on Monday in honor of the Martin Luther King Jr holiday. The MLK holiday is an official Day of Service and celebrates the civil rights leader’s life and legacy.
“It is my honor to spend this Martin Luther King Jr. Day thanking the essential staff who provide vital mental health services to our community’s most vulnerable members,” said Senator Samra Brouk. “Grief, sadness, frustration, loneliness and anxiety are all normal emotions to feel, and we know the pandemic has made things even worse for people who were already struggling. Our community is fortunate to have medical professionals and staff who tirelessly and bravely work to provide care to those who seek help.”
Rochester Psychiatric Center’s more than 500 employees provide psychiatric treatment and rehabilitation services, including inpatient, residential and community support for adults and residential and community support programs for adolescents.
Senator Brouk was recently appointed Chair of the Senate Committee on Mental Health.
