Rochester, NY - Senator Samra Brouk (SD-55), a member of the Senate Committee on Health, visited a COVID vaccination distribution site at Seneca Towers in Rochester, NY.
“COVID-19 has not impacted members of our city equally. We know that Black and brown people in our Rochester community have been disproportionately impacted by COVID-19 mortality and morbidity,” said Senator Samra Brouk (SD-55). “Stopping this pandemic will require using all the tools we have available, including the COVID-19 vaccine. Today I visited with residents of Seneca Towers and talked about the importance of overcoming vaccine hesitancy. As a community, we must acknowledge and grapple with this mistrust of the medical establishment in the Black community. I look forward to continuing my efforts to ensure equitable access to the COVID vaccine for all who want it.”
