HYDE PARK, NY – Following news that the Cuomo Administration has released a partial transcript of the secret meeting they convened with members of the Legislature’s Supermajority on COVID-19 deaths in New York’s nursing homes, Senator Sue Serino is demanding the administration publicly release the transcript in its entirety.
“This secret meeting should never have been held behind closed doors in the first place, and the Administration owes it to the residents and their loved ones to take the basic step of releasing a full transcript immediately,” said Senator Sue Serino. “While we will be sending a FOIL request for any records pertaining to the meeting in question, the Administration is infamous for stonewalling them. Now, more, than ever, we must be fully committed to transparency on this issue. Second to a public apology, releasing a full transcript or recording of the meeting is the least the Administration can do to begin doing right by the thousands of New Yorkers who lost loved ones in these facilities.”
Senator Serino is the Ranking Member of the State Senate’s Committee on Aging.
