Meng, Stavisky, Hevesi, Koslowitz make statement on anti-Semitic act of vandalism in Rego Park
February 18, 2021
REGO PARK, NY – Congresswoman Grace Meng, Senator Toby Ann Stavisky, Assemblyman Andrew Hevesi, and Council Member Karen Koslowitz released the following statement after the NYPD 112th Precinct reported that anti-Semitic graffiti had been found near the Rego Park Jewish Center on Wednesday, February 17, 2021.
“The NYPD 112th Precinct and Hate Crimes Task Force are investigating an act of vandalism that occurred in our neighborhoods yesterday, in which an individual tagged the area adjacent to the Rego Park Jewish Center with anti-Semitic graffiti. There is absolutely no room for this kind of hatred in our community. We have consulted with the NYPD, and are confident that the perpetrator behind this cowardly offense will be found, and will face justice.
We thank Commanding Officer Cappelmann, our officers at the 112th Precinct, for their prompt investigation and swift action to address this incident.”
