Senator Toby Ann Stavisky Receives a Perfect Score from the Non-Partisan New York League of Conservation Voters
September 21, 2021
Senator Toby Ann Stavisky (D- Flushing) has received a perfect grade in the newly released New York League of Conservation Voters 2021 Environmental Scorecard. The NYLCV’s mission is to fight climate change through political action. According to the report, the organization evaluates Senators and Assemblymembers by identifying high priority environmental bills and scoring them on their support for that legislation. This year’s report highlighted sixteen bills, which includes legislation to cut down on New York’s greenhouse emissions, slash packaging and single-use plastic wastefulness, and protect our children by reducing unacceptable lead levels in public school drinking water.
“Climate change is real, and it is here,” says Senator Stavisky. “This is not just an environmental crisis; it is a public health crisis. We need to be working to improve the way we care for our habitat, through both an immediate and long-term approach. I believe this legislation does just that, and I am proud to receive a perfect score from the NYLCV.”
Senator Stavisky thanks the NY League of Conservation Voters for the work they do in holding elected officials accountable. The full 2021 State Environmental Scorecard, including information on all 16 bills supported by the Senator, can be found here.
