(Rockville Centre, New York) — Today, Senator Todd Kaminsky announced that he helped secure more than $36,700 in grant funding for the Long Beach Friedberg JCC Early Childhood Center to help defray the cost of COVID-related modifications to keep children and staff safe, while enhancing learning opportunities. The grant that Senator Kaminsky helped secure was administered by the New York State Office of Children and Family Services through funding from the federal CARES Act.
“Safe, quality child care for our kids is more important now than ever,” said Senator Todd Kaminsky. “I am confident that this vital funding will go a long way for children, teachers and parents alike, while ensuring they stay safe during this most difficult time.”
“Providing affordable, high-quality child care during this difficult time is more important than ever for Long Island parents and their children alike. The Friedberg JCC is grateful to Senator Kaminsky for helping to secure this vital funding, which will undoubtedly go a long way in fostering the development of tomorrow's leaders,” said Roni Kleinman, Friedberg JCC’s Executive Director.
The Long Beach JCC will use the grant funding that Senator Kaminsky helped secure to purchase enhanced cleaning supplies and personal protective equipment to ensure the safety of the children in their care, while enabling the Center to expand its capacity and provide care to additional children in the community.
