Senator Dan Stec (R,C-Queensbury) today called on Governor Hochul and the Legislature to renew the gas tax holiday before its December 31 expiration. In urging action, Stec noted the need to continue providing relief for New Yorkers in the faces of rising fuel and home heating costs.
“If Senate and Assembly Democrats can carve out time to gift themselves a pay raise, we can certainly give our residents some relief at the gas pump,” said Stec. “The gas tax holiday is set to expire in just over a week. If it lapses, we’ll see an immediate and unacceptable jump in gas prices. The time to act is now. I urge Governor Hochul and the Legislature to make a renewal of the gas tax holiday an urgent priority. Let’s do right by hardworking New Yorkers and get this done now.”
