HALFMOON, NY – New York State Senator Daphne Jordan (R,C,I-Halfmoon) today announced that she is partnering with the American Red Cross to sponsor a free emergency preparedness course at the Clifton Park-Halfmoon Public Library. The free, specialized training will be offered Thursday, April 28, 6-7:30 p.m. at the Clifton Park-Halfmoon Public Library, located at 475 Moe Road, Clifton Park, NY 12065.
As noted on the American Red Cross website – www.redcross.org – “Emergencies come in many shapes and sizes – some man-made, others acts of nature. While it is impossible to control every outcome, education and planning can help you feel more confident that you and your loved ones will have the skills needed to cope.” In announcing the event, Senator Jordan stressed the importance of emergency preparedness led by the trained professionals at the American Red Cross.
“There’s ‘ready’ and then there’s ‘Red Cross Ready.’ Being ‘Red Cross Ready’ for an emergency means following simple steps in advance to ensure individuals and their families can weather a crisis safely and comfortably. This free training that I’m sponsoring with the American Red Cross will help people acquire skills, knowledge, and confidence critical to being fully prepared to handle any emergency. Everyone is encouraged to attend this free training and I thank the American Red Cross for their continued partnership with these special community events that I’m proud to sponsor,” Senator Jordan said.
