Senator Daphne Jordan Calls On Governor Hochul and the Senate Majority to Priotize Key Issues

HALFMOON, NY – With the State’s April 1 fiscal deadline quickly approaching, New York State Senator Daphne Jordan (R,C,I-Halfmoon) today called on Governor Kathy Hochul and Senate Majority Leader Andrea Stewart Cousins to highlight the Senate Republican Conference’s key priorities from the “Take Back New York” plan and requested their inclusion in the 2022-23 State Budget.  

“The 2022-23 State Budget deadline is just weeks away so there isn’t a moment to lose in ensuring the budget contains critical priorities that my colleagues and I have advanced this Session, including making New York more affordable, investing in our workforce, expanding economic opportunities, and providing a quality education for every student. We can, and should, realize all these policy priorities in the final 2022-23 State Budget. I’ll keep working with my colleagues to deliver a fiscally responsible State Budget that meets these priorities, helps take back New York, and puts our state on a path to affordability, opportunity, and security for everyone,” Senator Jordan said. 

As State Budget negotiations begin to accelerate with the Senate and Assembly expected to vote on their One House Budgets in session next week, Senator Jordan and her Senate Republican colleagues outlined key priorities that highlight the needs and concerns of everyday New Yorkers including:
