Halfmoon, NY – New York State Senator Daphne Jordan (R,C,I-Halfmoon) today honored Frank McClement, Director of the Saratoga County Veterans Services Agency, as her 2022 NYS Senate Veterans Hall of Fame inductee for the 43rd Senate District during a special ceremony held at the Fairways of Halfmoon.
Senator Jordan’s Veterans Hall of Fame public ceremony recognized Frank McClement’s thoughtful, energetic service to Saratoga County’s military veterans, his principled, highly effective leadership of Saratoga County’s Dwyer Program, and his honorable, faithful devotion to the nation as a highly decorated member of America’s armed forces.
Frank McClement is a veteran of the United States Army, served as an Airborne Infantryman with the 82nd Airborne Division from 1995-1998, separating at the rank of Specialist. His service took him from Ft. Bragg, North Carolina, to Egypt and Israel, serving as part of the Multinational Force and Observers in Sinai. Mr. McClement also served briefly in Kazakhstan, where from Ft. Bragg to Kazakhstan, he participated in the longest Airborne operation in history.
For his faithful service and leadership, Frank McClement earned numerous awards and medals including the Army Achievement Medal with two oak leaf clusters; Army Superior Unit Award; Army Good Conduct Medal; National Defense Service Medal; Humanitarian Service Medal; Army Service Ribbon; Multinational Force and Observers Medal; Expert Infantryman Badge; Parachutist Badge, and the Russian Parachutist Badge. Frank McClement proudly comes from a long line of military veterans: his father is a Vietnam Veteran, and both of his grandfathers served in WWII.
In September 2010, Frank McClement was hired as a Veterans Service Officer at the Saratoga County Veterans Service Agency and was promoted to Director of the Agency in May 2014. In his role as a Veterans Service Officer for 12 years, he has assisted countless veterans and their families. Frank McClement was involved in the creation of and now oversees the Saratoga County PFC Joseph Dwyer Veterans Peer Connection Program, which aims to combat suicide among veterans by connecting veterans with each other and helping find them additional resources to assist them in moving forward in their lives. Under Frank McClement’s leadership, Saratoga County’s Dwyer program has continually been recognized for programmatic excellence and held up as a statewide model for County Dwyer programs.
During her time in the State Senate, Senator Jordan successfully secured $740,000 for Saratoga County’s Dwyer Program and, as a member of the Senate Veterans, Homeland Security and Military Affairs Committee, advocated for its statewide expansion, which happened as part of the 2022-23 State Budget.
Frank McClement also serves his community as a member of the American Legion and as an elected Councilman on the Waterford Town Board. Mr. McClement lives in Waterford with his wife, Christina, and two children, Cassidy, and Hunter.
“Frank McClement has faithfully, dutifully, and effectively served our nation as a member of America’s armed forces, with his distinguished leadership continually recognized and lauded. Frank continued his service, helping Saratoga County veterans as Director of the Saratoga County Veterans Service Agency where he helped create and now leads Saratoga County’s incredibly successful Dwyer program that is cited as a model for the rest of our state. Frank also serves his Waterford community as a member of the Town Board. Whether he was leading and serving in the military, or local government, Frank McClement has continually distinguished himself. Service runs in Frank’s family, and he has always given back and made a real difference. I was proud to name Frank McClement as my 2022 New York State Senate Veterans Hall of Fame inductee for our 43rd Senate District,” Senator Daphne Jordan said.
“Thank you to thank Senator Jordan for this tremendous honor. I’m honored and grateful to be her 2022 inductee to the New York State Senate Veterans Hall of Fame for the 43rd Senate District. I am proud of my military service and now feel fortunate to work with a great team and great leaders to support my fellow Veterans and their families. Senator Jordan has been steadfast, strong, and successful in her advocacy championing and securing valuable funding for our Dwyer program and was one of the leading voices that secured Dwyer’s statewide expansion. On behalf of myself and veterans across Saratoga County, I thank Senator Jordan for her leadership and friendship to our Veterans,” Frank McClement said.
Launched in 2005, the Senate Veterans Hall of Fame honors New York State’s outstanding veterans with a special online gallery recognizing the heroic service of each distinguished veteran inducted into the Veterans Hall of Fame with their achievements celebrated and honored.
