Statement from NYS Senator Daphne Jordan (R,C,I-Halfmoon) on the Democrat’s Latest, Legalized Corruption

“It’s outrageous, but not shocking, that former New York State Senator and current New York State Lieutenant Governor Brian Benjamin reportedly misused and abused taxpayer refunds over a dozen times, engaging in the fraudulent practice of double-dipping at taxpayer’s expense. This is the latest chapter in the ongoing scandals and legalized corruption of the Albany Democrats, aka disgraced Ex-Governor Andrew Cuomo’s enablers. Add the Lieutenant Governor’s alleged fraud to the long, growing list of examples of how Democratic One-Party rule greenlights corruption, hurts taxpayers, and is destroying public trust in state government. Especially concerning is the fact that State Attorney General Tish James either missed or likely ignored, this pattern of Democratic corruption that was only exposed because of excellent media reporting. Either way, the Attorney General’s failure to act and expose this pattern of alleged corruption – one that’s ensnarled and followed Democrat Brian Benjamin for years – is unacceptable. We need a full and truly independent investigation into Lieutenant Governor Benjamin’s reported pattern of corruption to see who knew what, when, and why they failed to act.”
