Senator James Sanders Jr. Hosts Sucessful Mini Golf Event in Recognition of Senior Appreciation Month

In recognition of Senior Appreciation Month, Senator James Sanders Jr. (D-Rochdale Village, Far Rockaway) hosted a free mini golf event on September 14, 2022 at Five Towns Mini-Golf and Batting Range which was attended by dozens of seniors from across his district.

"It was a great joy for me to host a free mini golf event for the elders in our community. It warms my heart to see them so active and vibrant and enjoying themselves," Sanders said. "This is one of the best parts of my job. Everyone had a wonderful time. Thank you to Matt and Marty Rosen, the owners of Five Towns Mini-Golf and Batting Range, for allowing us to use their facility."

For some attendees, it was their first time golfing, and they were excited about the experience, while other more seasoned golfers enjoyed the thrill of the competition. Far Rockaway residents Celeste Grimes and Juana Gonzales were thrilled as they scored their first hole-in-one. 

Senator Sanders presented a Certificate of Appreciation to Five Towns Mini-Golf and Batting Range for its support of Senior Appreciation Month. In addition to thanking Matt and Marty Rosen for their hospitality, we want to thank managers Matthew Rios and Douglas Peakcock who were also on site on the day of the event helping out.
