Senator Sanders' Statement on Supreme Court Nominee Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson

Senator James Sanders Jr. said: “Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson is an incredibly qualified person to serve on the Supreme Court, and if confirmed would make history as the first Black woman to be appointed to such a role. It's about time that the Supreme Court reflected the multiracial diversity of the United States. I hope there will continue to be more diversity, because the people of the highest intelligence who end up making it to the Supreme Court can be found in every race and socioeconomic class. Judge Jackson is a proven consensus builder, an accomplished lawyer, and a distinguished jurist with a long list of accomplishments. I commend President Biden for his excellent choice in picking Judge Jackson and I support her nomination."
