**STATEMENT** Senator James Sanders Jr. Condemns Youth Stabbing Near John Adams High School

Senator James Sanders Jr. said: “If students are not safe, they cannot learn. School safety should always be a priority. We need to encourage young people to settle their differences in a non-violent manner and we can do that through mediation and juvenile court. I hope that both of these young victims recover from their injuries, put this experience behind them, and move on to living fruitful lives."

According to news reports, a 16-year-old and-17 year-old, who were both students at John Adams High School were stabbed within the vicinity of the school following an altercation with an unknown assailant.
