“I’m heartened the Assembly Speaker heeded my call and today sent to the Governor to review and sign legislation S.7563/A.8493A unanimously passed by the legislature to extend the date by six months for the final report of the New York State Stretch Limousine Passenger Safety Task Force, which was created in the wake of the horrific 2018 Schoharie limo crash that killed several of my constituents.”

“There’s a pending report from the state Inspector General on potential state malfeasance regarding oversight of the limo company involved in the Schoharie crash that could be released at any time and we’ve now become aware of an internal FBI investigation of the crash.  It’s critical the Task Force has the extra time to review all these findings and then schedule a public hearing to hear as many voices and experts as possible so they can issue their own report and policy recommendations to the Governor and Legislature so we can take additional steps to prevent something like this from ever happening again.”
