Tedisco Honors Brilliant Young Minds in Johnstown in their Odyssey to Earn a World Title

Senator Jim Tedisco (R,C-Glenville) on May 11th honored a dozen 11th grade and 5th grade students from the Greater Johnstown School District who won first place in the New York State Odyssey of the Mind finals qualifying them for the World Finals at Iowa State University held May 25th to May 28th.
Odyssey of the Mind is an international creativity competition that helps students develop skills in problem solving, critical thinking, teamwork, math, language arts, engineering, science, writing, and the performing arts. ‘’
Tedisco presented NYS Senate Proclamations to the Johnstown teams that each won their respective state titles and are headed to the World Finals: the 11th grade team named "Energetic Engineers" and the 5th grade team from Warren Street Elementary School.
“We are very proud of these 12 students from Johnstown who have worked hard to win the New York State 11thgrade and 5th grade Odyssey of the Mind State Title and now will compete against 800 teams from 26 different countries in the World Finals. They are great role models for working together as a team to achieve unbelievable success!” said Senator Jim Tedisco.
