Tedisco Honors Malta Veterans Advocate & Small Businesswoman as a 2022 NYS Senate “Woman of Distinction”

Senator Jim Tedisco today presented a New York State Senate “Woman of Distinction Award” to Renee Farley of Malta, who is an impassioned advocate for veterans and a successful small businesswoman and owner of a Saratoga County-based woman-owned construction business and real estate firm.
“Renee Farley has truly been a champion for the American Dream for so many people in our area. Renee’s a successful small businesswoman who has helped many people achieve the American Dream of home ownership and she is an incredible advocate for our veterans and their families, who for years has gone above and beyond to help them achieve their American Dream after they sacrificed so much to protect our country and way of life. I’m proud and honored to present Renee with a 2022 NYS Senate Woman of Distinction for all she has done to may Saratoga County and our area a better place,” said Senator Jim Tedisco.
Renee is one of the co-founders of the Malta Veterans Appreciation Program. Under Renee Farley’s leadership and working with a great time of dedicated board members and other volunteers, the Malta Veterans Appreciation Program has developed a “Homes for Heroes” program to help place veterans into their very own homes. Renee and her amazing team of volunteers have built three homes from the ground-up for our veterans and their families.
The Malta Veterans Appreciation Program, through Renee Farley’s steadfast leadership, built the Capt. USMC David T. Wallingford Malta Veterans Memorial Park and Brick Walkway at Town Hall, a serene place for residents to remember loved ones who served and the sacrifices that our veterans have given our country.
Renee and her incredible team of volunteers have also led food drives, helped veterans find medical equipment such as wheelchairs and hospital beds, winterized people’s homes, installed new porches and handicap accessible ramps, and dealt with plumbing emergencies. She and her team also drive veterans to medical appointments and grocery shopping.
Farley comes from a strong military family with her brother-in-law a colonel in the U.S. Army, another brother-in-law who served in the Army, a niece in the U.S. Air Force and three nephews currently in active duty in the military. One of Renee’s nephew’s, U.S. Army Staff Sgt. Derek Farley, gave the ultimate sacrifice for our country, losing his life while attempting to disarm an improvised explosive device in Afghanistan.
Farley is a New York State and Florida licensed real estate broker and is the broker-owner of Renee Farley Realty Group, Inc., with offices in Malta, New York, and Florida. She also is the owner of Jo-Re’ Construction, a woman-owned business specializing in commercial and residential construction and land development that she started in 1982. Renee currently enjoys working alongside her son Ian Farley, who was raised around the business and today handles the majority of the physical labor and larger projects on a full-time basis.
A single mom, Renee Farley has 4 children (one who died in infancy, and another passed away last year) and raised 3 of her nephews. She is a graduate of Berlin Central High School and also has been an active supporter of the Ronald McDonald House, Hospice and Living Resources, among other organizations and causes.
