I believe strongly that we must limit outside income because it can have a subjective influence on the people’s business.
I also believe my colleagues on both sides of the aisle deserve a pay raise in the form of predictable increases that are minimal and incremental.
I commend Leader Stewart-Cousins for her steadfast dedication to the people of the state and for enacting meaningful outside income ethics reforms.
However, legislator salaries are not my mission or focus as an elected leader and therefore I voted against this proposal.
You sent me to Albany to represent the families, businesses, and farms of Central New York. My priority is always on the needs of my constituents. As we head into a new legislative session, my focus is on delivering the policies and securing the resources that will benefit Central New Yorkers and improve the quality of life in our region.
