ALBANY, NY – Senator John W. Mannion today released the following statement on the signing of the Green Chips legislation into law:
“From the White House and Capitol Hill to the Statehouse in Albany, transformative actions are taking place to cement the United States as the global leader in computer chip research, development, and manufacturing. Central New York is positioned to play a major role in the country’s strategy and Onondaga County is already home to the best shovel-ready site in the nation for a computer chip fab and the thousands of great jobs it will create. The signing of my Green Chips legislation that will provide $500M per year and up to $10B total to attract and support the semiconductor industry along with Senator Schumer’s Chips and Science bill at the federal level, we’ve never been closer to achieving this long-standing goal for our region. This legislation is a major achievement and I am grateful for the continued partnership with Governor Hochul to deliver real results for Central New York.”
