Addabbo announces Veterans BBQ event for this October

State Senator Joseph P. Addabbo’s annual Veterans BBQ event is back!

On Saturday, October 1, Addabbo invites veterans from the 15^th Senatorial District to join him and his staff for the annual Veterans BBQ from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m. at the Howard Beach Motor Club, located at 59 Russell Street in Howard Beach.

As a member of the Senate Committee on Veterans, Homeland Security and Military Affairs, Addabbo has been hosting this free event for veterans every year since he started serving as a member of the Senate in 2009.

“This is definitely one of my favorite events to host each year. There is nothing better than putting smiles on the faces of our veterans,” Addabbo said. “This is just one small way my office and local businesses get to say ‘thank you’ to veterans for the sacrifice they and their families have made to protect our freedoms. And to see how so many of our local restaurants and businesses participate by donating all the delicious food and beverages for our veterans gives me a great sense of pride in our community.”

Veterans who wish to attend the event are asked to call Addabbo’s Howard Beach office at 718-738-1111 to make a reservation. Due to space constraints, any veteran who RSVPs may bring only one guest with them.

“I like to say every day is Veteran’s Day, and it is such an honor to spend time with our great veterans and provide them with some free food, music, friendship, and good times,” Addabbo added. “I look forward to having another successful and safe event!"
