6-4-22-(Brooklyn, New York)- On Saturday June 4th State Senator Kevin Parker partnered with the Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Inc. - Delta Rho Omega Chapter, to provide prom dresses, shoes and accessories to graduating Seniors throughout Central Brooklyn.
“Prom is an exciting milestone for seniors and the students in our community need to know that their community supports them and is willing to come together to make sure they have the resources they need to fully celebrate their accomplishments. We’re dealing with a global pandemic and a high level of uncertainty in our everyday goings, stated Senator Parker. Many parents have lost their jobs, many facing food insecurity, and for some, prom can be overwhelming. As I help my constituents through all of these issues, we must continue to ensure that our students are taken care of as well. I still remain steadfast in my duty to make sure that our students are as prepared as they can be,” said Senator Kevin Parker.
This event was open to the community and students from local organizations such as Woodside Cornerstone Community Center, Sunnyside Community Services Inc. and Flanbwayan Haitian Literacy Project attended.
