Two East Meadow Students Win NYS Senate Youth Leadership Recognition Award

(East Meadow, NY) — New York State Senator Kevin Thomas presented two East Meadow High School students with the New York State Senate Youth Leadership Recognition Award on Thursday, May 19 and praised them for their outstanding academic performance as well as their contributions to their school and community through their extracurricular and volunteer activities.
"I congratulate Addison Baroukh and Mahira Ahmed for their outstanding achievements both inside and outside the classroom, and I also congratulate the faculty, staff and administrators of East Meadow High School for creating an environment that has enabled so many students to achieve extraordinary levels of success," said Senator Kevin Thomas. "I am thrilled to recognize these future leaders for their exceptional achievements and their dedication to making a difference in our community.”
The New York State Senate Youth Leadership Recognition Awards honor students who have demonstrated exceptional leadership qualities in their school or community. Well-rounded students who show leadership potential are nominated by teachers, administrators or other faculty members for their achievements in academics, athletics, arts, and community service.
