Senate Deputy Leader Gianaris Partners With New York State Laborers’ LECET, Woodside On The Move For Back To School Backpack Giveaway

WOODSIDE, N.Y. – Senate Deputy Leader Michael Gianaris joined LiUNA and Woodside on the Move for a back to school supplies giveaway. He partnered with the Woodside on the Move and New York State Laborers’ LECET. Senator Gianaris gave away over 75 backpacks and coloring books to children and families in Woodside. The backpacks were donated under LIUNA’s Feel the Care program.
“With the school year underway, the need for school supplies continues for many families,” said Senate Deputy Leader Michael Gianaris. “I thank GNY LECET and Woodside on the Move for their partnership in this effort.”
Woodside on the Move partnered with a number of area elected officials and community organizations as part of their Back to School Distribution, including U.S. Rep. Grace Meng, State Assembly Members Jessica Gonzalez-Rojas and Brian Barnwell, New York City Council Members Tiffany Cabán and Julie Won, the Mets Foundation, New York City Department of Youth and Community Development, and Beacon Healthcare.
